Prendismo is home to the world's premiere collection of digital video content on business, leadership
and entrepreneurship. Founded in July 2008, Prendismo has developed innovative and provocative ways
to share an extensive collection of business insight.
Prendismo is:
- A business resource for entrepreneurs and small business owners;
- A channel through which companies can broadcast their brand to prospective customers, employees and partners;
- A provider of tagged content that can be used by publishers and information companies to expand existing asset bases and enliven print-based products;
- A tool for businesses who wish to capture the real stories of their executives and employees and capitalize on the content as a knowledge management tool for their organization.
Prendismo arose from the eClips project at Cornell University, the Cornell Center for Technology Enterprise
and Ithaca-based intellectual property development company, KensaGroup, LLC.

Our Take on Knowledge Management
KM It's not just for document storage anymore.
Prendismo takes a new look at Knowledge Management (KM). Instead of the traditional approaches focused on document
storage and retrieval, or the newer enterprise searching tools, we think the most important thing in KM is how
knowledge is generated.
What matters most is tacit.
Furthermore, research has shown that the highest value knowledge to be able to capture, store and retrieve is what
exists in the minds of your best people, the so-called tacit knowledge of the company. Think of your best salesperson is
it his/her explicit knowledge (standard procedures, manuals, etc.) that matters or the tacit understanding of the work,
such as how to finesse a client situation, or how to overcome a challenging sales cycle that will really make a difference?
Some of the places we see KM working most effectively for your company include:
- Transferring best practices between sales people.
- Getting a team up-to-speed with a new member or on an existing customer
- Integrating companies post M&A.
- Debriefing retirees before they exit the company.
We know that Storytelling = Tacit Wisdom.
It is challenging to dig for tacit knowledge. Tacit insights and wisdom were traditionally passed from person to person
through storytelling (think: sitting around the fire). Two things are important about stories:
- When recounting a story, humans embed and interweave insights and wisdom that you just can't get any other way.
- We humans can remember stories so retention of information is higher.
We make storytelling cost efficient.
Until now it has been difficult, if not impossible, to effectively scale the one-to-one approach in order to transfer tacit knowledge from one expert
in a firm to each person who needs it. But through our years of creating content through digital storytelling, we have developed a proprietary interview
technique to simulate the storytelling environment through an interview process to create content that it can be shared one-to-many. Even better, we
have the tools and experience to parse the interview into bite-sized pieces, so it can be served up for selective use.
Our users find what they want when they want it.
For the first time, we make it possible to match the content (tacit knowledge) to the teachable moment (the urgent need of the user to learn
something). This means that KM through our tools will be efficient and effective.
Plus, using our content is interesting and fun to use.
We live in a YouTube, iPod world and all of us are more oriented than ever towards rich media. Prendismo serves up products that tap into the excitement
of learning from authentic source (someone who has been there, done that) served up just-in-time in a multimedia environment.
